A short time after that, the 3.0 was released, and then the 4.0..... Basically any OBC that was ever released for 12 volt batteries was eventually considered bad... A few short years after that, they quit blaming the OBC and started blaming the batteries. I think this is where they finally hit the nail on the head. I believe it was a battery issue all along, and not necessarily an OBC issue at all. All of the OBCs out there that were on cars with 6x8 volt batteries are fine. The new v6.0 OBC would work great in your application.
That's basically my conundrum. Do replace my OBC or bypass it and get a different charger? My range was fine with 4-12V's, but replacing them after after 2 years was well shitty and expensive. I got the T-890's for longevity, they should not be discharged as much therefor should last longer, at least according to what I have read here and elsewere. I am also replacing all the cables with 2 AWG EXCELENE WELDING CABLE BLACK OR RED MADE IN USA. when the motor or controller quits I will be continue upgrading to a higher torque motor and higher amp speed controller! Just waiting on things to fail to give me an excuse. :)
