If you go with a larger converter to support the radio, etc. I suggest you mount in the space behind the battery tub, where the motor is. It is quite large and pretty well protected, and most of the converters are fairly water resistant - just check to make sure. I have a smaller converter so was able to fit in the area with the electronics - between the batteries on an 07 precedent.
