Turn the key switch one way and go forward the turn it the other way and go backwards? They use solenoids for direction control. You can still retrofit a CC or EZ-GO F/R switch into your cart. The trick is knowing where to put the wires electrically.

You will need to know how to power the controller off another key or the exisitng key with other wires removed, and then you will need to know how the F/R switch works so you can incorporate it in place of the four-solenoid bank. You would not want your mod to cause an issue with the existing wiring so you would need to look for places power could feed back. This is a bit of an advanced move and I don’t want you to fry anything. Maybe fixing the existing reverse circuit with known diagrams is best at this point.
