Stock brakes are VERY ineffective at high speeds. They are designed to stop the cart with 2 passengers at 14mph and not much more. The kind of cart you are talking about needs MANY SAFETY improvements. Brakes being one of them.

6v batteries store more amperage per battery....225ah 6v and 190ah 8v typically
