Solenoids on G16's are in front of the rear passenger wheel well inside the black plastic cover behind the battery.

You can use a DVM to check for power getting to the solenoid when you hit the gas pedal to narrow down the culprit. I have also had the case of a bad ground to the solenoid (small black wire).
