That is kinda weird. It should still work but it depends on how you hooked it up. If you hooked the feilds to feilds and the armature to armature theoretically nothing should have gone wrong. If you hooked it up any other way yes it possible. If anything is blown its probly the controller. I would get it all back together the way it is supposed to be and be sure its right and then start diagnosing it.
