Several varieties of cactus (AKA prickly pear) here in Central Texas. Some w/ short tiny needles, some w/ 1" long needles, most w/ straight needles some w/ curled needles. Most common on my place is the 'Texas prickly pear', and others, and "Horse Crippler" which is a "bulb" cactus half buried in the dirt, barely visible above ground and w/ ugly spines which will puncture through a flipflop and truck tire in a New York heartbeat.
