Default Re: G1 oil pump test

Testing/priming a Yamaha oil pump. There is a platic cover on the oil pump, pull it off. Turn the phillips head screw counter clockwise and let the oil gravity feed/bleed from the oil tank, when you see oil come out, close the screw. Take the "jet sensor" hose off at the muffler. Blow into the hose and then "crimp' the hose. Now you will need a "squirt bottle" or already premixed oil. Jack up the car. On the passenger side (by the soleniods) undo the "black/white" wire connector, turn in the throttle stop screw to a low rpm. turn on the key and push the accelerator pedal and the car will idle. If you can, "force some oil down the oil pump to carb hose. As the engine is running, you want to see a "pin head" of oil come out of the small hose that attatches to the carb. If you do see the pinhead of oil, the pump is working. If you do not have already premixed oil in the tank, you need the squirt bottle to shoot oil into the carb often to protect the engine. Sometimes it can take along time to get the oil up that line. Good luck
