Sounds about right. What brand are they and are they 8 or 12v?

Also sounds like your cart has a parasitic draw that is killing your batteries. Do you have a voltage converter or any lights, stereo, other electronics connected to the batteries?

You can leave the charger plugged into the cart for the whole time its in storage and the charger will automatically turn on to top off the batteries as needed. Just remember to check on the electrolyte level in the batteries.
