I think i would try to use that 9" as well.
hopefully you can find a trans that will work.
you could use atv tires that have a heavier ply rating. that was a main reason that i bought the ones i did. of course it may need to be lifted too a little. just a thought. you need some clearance to do logging i would think.
i know cramblit had to do some machine work to make the diesel fit his application
