When I first got mine it was hitting right around 30-35 depend on the slope, with gps. It only does 25-28 now. But instead of going hydraulic, why not go standard. I have a 3spd in mine and although I haven't found any of those specific transmission's I have found them for cushman haulsters and such. From there you could either fab and adapter plate or try to find the SAE bell housing you would need. It sounds kind of difficult, but just a bit easier than going hydraulic...Just an Idea. Take a look at some of my pics to get an idea of what I did with mine. Hopefully it helps.
the man I wanted to chat with! the yanmar engine says its 14hp at 2200 rpm. I cant find a torque spec though.

im considering going the gear box route now, im just having a hard time finding anything in the ball park, I can easily convert the chain driven rear end to the traditional pinion just buy removing the chain gear and installing a pinion.

having to custom build a bell housing wouldn't be too difficult, my buddy owns a machine shop.

I am going to have to address the tires, just want to get this thing rolling on its own first.
