I've been working on Yami's for 30 years and untill Spriddle mentioned a rev limitor in the g2's I didn't know. If G9's don't have one, why would a G8 have one? I have seen worn primary clutch weights have the same effect, kind of "out of balance" effect, causing loss of spark at higher rpm's. Try taking the drive belt off and reving the engine, if it "osilates" could be loose primary weights. On another note, loss of top end could be a restictive exhaust. I'm learning ever day like you.
