I thought about this the other day when contemplating a Club Car swap. It would definitely be interesting. If the cart has leaf springs then it shouldn't be too hard to flip the axle around first giving everything the eyeball to make sure there are no frame members in the way.

I really doubt the motor will run backwards no matter what you do. The signal generator of the ign only works properly when the motor is running it's designed direction. The polarity of the signal magnets would be reversed if running backwards. Now if it happened to have a points ign you would be set !!
