I have painted 5 golf carts now. Some with single stage automotive acrylic enamel ( i did clear coat them although not required) and some with base/clear automotive paint. All mine were body off paint jobs and I had to move the bodies around and take them on and off while finishing up the rebuilds. The bodies do flex quite a bit but I never experienced any cracking. I also have done all those tops in truck bed liner. Raptor Liner to be exact. Some were standard black and some were color matched to the cart body. I like the textured look and it hides a lot of minor flaws.
