Re: Paint Question
Well it looks like its going to be a while before I can paint. Its rained here (New Orleans) everyday for the last week or two, and there doesn't seem to be any day in the next 10 days when rain isn't called for. My plan is to prep the body, which is already done. I degreased and wet sanded the body with 2000 grit paper. Everywhere there were decals is now smooth. Before primer, I'll degrease again, dry and tac. Then adhesion promoter, primer (probably 2 coats) with wet sanding between coats. Then base color, at least 2 coats. Then clear with medium activator, at least 4 coats with wet sanding between coats. Hopefully this produces a good result.
Kind of a different topic, but what would be best for painting the canopy? I was looking at the truck bed coating, like Rhino lining, or would regular Krylon fusion be just as good? If I had to guess, the truck coating would be more durable, but I'm not sure I'll like the textured look.
