It's called corrosion, and Club Cars are certainly NOT IMMUNE from it, it just takes longer. When you do your rinsing get it all wet, stop, and sprinkle the whole battery bay with some baking soda. Let it sit like that for 10 minutes, THEN rinse it all away. This will help neutralize any buildup and slow the process down.
