on an 84 marathon I believe the motor comes up between the batteries..... Scotty's conversion kit isn't currently designed for this type of cart.
As for the glowing resistor..... as Scotty calls them, Resistor carts are nothing more than glorified toaster ovens so yes, if she was holding her foot on the gas, this would cause the resistor to glow.
