We just bought our first cart. Its a 98-CC DS, Regen2 - 48V.
Our campground has a couple of paved steep hills and the bone stock DS can barely climb them. On flat ground its fine and runs around 10mph (I haven't actually checked the speed). The previous owner replaced the batteries (date codes are D6&E6), and the cables as well.

The stock controller is 225amp and I assume that this is the biggest issue. I am considering a 400 or 500amp controller, with the expectations of burning out the existing motor this camping season or next.

It has a rear seat and at times it will be occupied. Not looking for a speed demon, just need to increase the torque to maintain hill climbs without wanting to get out and walk!

Tell me - Is the controller the best way to go for the first upgrade?
