Default Re: 1997 Club Car Ds Torque

Hi Guys. To the original poster, use a 400 (or 500) amp Alltrax SR controller and the Admiral A1 motor. You will be surprised by the increase in speed and torque even uphill. Read more here 10 reasons Alltrax should be your next control

To RXLuke, doubling the size of the speed controller does double the motor's access to amperage. The result will not be a 100% increase in torque because the stock motor cannot utilize that much amperage efficiently and at the end of the day it is still the same stock 3 hp motor. But it should make more power than it can chocked down by the OEM 225a control. Ideally you would increase the controller size and the motor size together. This would give the best results.
Look at Admiral A1 motor.

Finally to dgrandowicz - Stop hijacking other people's repair threads and start your own by clicking on the new thread button. We would be happy to help you solve the mystery as to why your pedal is not coming all the way back up to off or why the off position is not working as it should.
Look forward to seeing your thread.
