There are 12 volt golf cart batteries. Thats what you have (probably) The 12 volts the OP is talking about are either Automotive type starting batteries or Marine type. Marine "deep cycle" are not true deep cycle batteries. They are a hybrid cross between a starting battery and a true deep cycle. Again, Three 12 volts will work, I've done it myself, they just dont last as long both in run time and replacement time.. These guys who swear buy 12 volt auto batteries never come back to back up their claims. (cause they don't work like they thought)

If I was in a bind I'd use them and have used them in the past. I've used them to make sure something runs too before bying a whole set of Golf cart batteries. Again, they just don't last as long.
