But the lack of a phone number is not a good indicator IMHO. We place ads in CL all the time, and don't put our phone number in the ads. We use CL's email capabilities, and give a phone number once we've seen that the buyer is sincere.

Ever since that whole Craigslist Killer BS I don't even like my wife having people come to the house to buy stuff. We meet them at the local grocery store a few minutes away.
