If the microswitch on the F&R was bad, it wouldn't run in forward. The anti-arcing micro switch doesn't know which position the switch is in. If the solenoid is clicking when you press the pedal, the micro switch is working. However, it is possible that the half speed resistor may have failed. Reverse the black and white wires on the rear micro switch on the F&R and see if the symptoms are reversed. If the car will now run in reverse, but not forward, the resistor has failed.
