I read it as the different solenoid got it going again, but knowing what I know about the convoluted path the electric power has to take to get to the solenoid coil in a PDS, I suspected the different solenoid is just masking the symptoms rather than fixing the problem.
Somewhat akin to replacing a blown fuse with out trying to find out why the fuse blew.
