Cool 1995 Medalist Troubleshooting Help

Can the Inductive Throttle control that is located in the floor board and controlled by the foot pedal which moves a plunger in and out of the coil be tested by itself. When the plunger moves through the coil what should one see at the black and white wires of the ITS. Will there be a voltage change or will you need to measure a current change going into the Curtis controller?
If a voltage what is the desired range and if current what is the desired range?
