Default Trojan batteries

Ok so I bought a 95 ezgo April 20 2013. The 6 trojan batteries i was told were brand new. I bought the digital monitor from ScottyB to keep up with battery status. I never allowed them to go below 75% before charging them. Now after charging them all night I can't get it over 37.2.

i tested them and i have two batteries reading on the high side of "low" on a hydrometer. The other 4 are at the high side of "fair" None of the 6 are in "good" just 11 months later.

I looked at the date on the positive terminal and it is E2, which means May 2012 (very seriously doubt 2002). Question is, how long do batteries sit and still be considered "new"? In my case it's 11 months.

Is this normal? I was given a 1 yr warranty.
