Use this picture for a reference, unless you want corrosion everywhere. If you fill up to the bottom of the "ring", you will have acid mess to deal with. I know those pics came from trojan website, but i also know what a pain dealing with acid everywhere is. As long as the fluid is always above the plate dividers (those are not really the battery plates just spacers), you are not harming the batteries, nor losing any capacity. Having more fluid in there does not get you any more range or battery life.
