yes yes, very true... it was expected that there would be some maintenance. I did have someone turn the wheel back and forth and couldn't really pin point where the slop was. I might try it again and look at it a bit more extensively this time. I will definitely look into that Adjusting Screw, I'm sure it and a few other parts may need some attention. I had the body off my 1971 Caroche for a while and cleaned a lot of gunk off the steering box, etc. Here is a picture of mine. It may not be like yours but I assumed the screw in the left-middle of the top of the box is for adjusting it. On the right hand side of the box, in this view, there is a filler plug. I used an old fashioned oil can to pump 75 weight gear oil into it. It didn't have a drop in it. Tough to get to with the body on.
