Update:
It appears that the ignition modules for the late 80s Par Cars are no longer produced which is unfortunate to say the least.

http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-c...s-reverse.html speaks to a poster who was successful in using a car ignition module on a Par Car. It is listed as a Pertronix 025-003 but I believe that the actual number is 025-003a. Hopefully, this is a suitable substitute.
