Are the Trojans the best thing going, or are there others out there with the same performance? I have heard that the top of the Negative post should have a letter and a number stamped on them, signifying the month and year they were made. Is this true? If so, these batteries don't have those stamps on them

The three top batteries are, Trojan, US battery and Crown. There is a stamp code on the Neg post that signifies year and month of manufacturing.
