Default Re: 1986? columbia parcar wont turn over.

Just an update and a few more questions.

I installed the two solenoids and now it cranks and runs in both forward and reverse. I used the duel switches like shown in the pictures but I think I can go back and wire it like a navigation/anchor switch on a boat with a DPDT switch. this would make up only power to the gas pedal switch. and down would power both the gas pedal switch and the reverse solenoid/horn. center position would be off. I also think I will wire an indicator light to the dash for anytime the switch is in forward or reverse so the kids will remember to turn if off.

now for the new questions.

where the throttle cable connects to the carb, there is another cable that also connects here that runs to the flywheel area on the motor. what does this do? the stop has slid down and the cable doesn't move when the throttle is pressed.

the cart cranks and runs fine except if you barley push the pedal, however if you press the pedal all the way down it backfires like the choke is on but it is not pulled out. is this related to the above cable being miss adjusted?

I ordered some new stops and will get it put on next time I'm down with the cart.

I also have to do a little welding on the exhaust and I think it will be good to go.

one last questions, does everyone leave the oil injection in place or just take it off and premix the fuel? if so what ratio? 40:1, 50:1?

Thanks again for all of the help.
