I measured twice, or maybe five times lol. I've done a lot of engine stuff as well as fabricating/industrial/welding....power tools are fun ya know.
I had a big air grinder that cut it off quick, but its not hard to cut. Here is a pic of mine with the adapter on it ready for the clutch, the first photo I posted.

Now look at the last photo posted here (#21) you can see the gas tank and recoil, note the foam that hits the top of the recoil. I tore off the bottom part where the recoil is. I can just fit my fingers between the tank and recoil.
