Default Re: Shimming Comet Driven Clutch Spring

I have a new comet duster clutch I put on the cart last fall. When I took it a part the cover, pucks, and half of the clutch comes off. Then the spring comes out. The spring is between the 2 half's of the clutch. So when I put the shimm in it was to much and would not let the clutch close all the way. I used 3/8, 1/4, and the thickness of a washer and were to much. Im looking a finding a stiffer spring for it.

But tonight the kids and I when to get a load of rocks with the cart. With the shimm in the driven clutch I was able to hall a big load of rocks and the 3 of us right up the hills with no problem. It definitely has help a lot.
