If it was me: Series carts = simple, rugged, reliable. They tolerate the heat generated at low speed better than the sepex carts. Better for hunting. Draw back is no motor breaking (regen) or roll away protection but you won't have this on a sepex cart either if you change to aftermarket controller. All Precedents are sepex so rules them out for me for this application. Don't know when they stopped building series style DS's but I know they were available at least thru 2003.
DS seems wider to me. Wide comfortable seat compared to the Precedent. Precedent seat is hard. Of course an aftermarket seat would fix this.

If it was me: DS with series electronics.
