Honda gx630 throttle mod
I recently built a cart, and learned a lot along the way as well as used my automotive back ground to modify areas I thought needed a little change.
Out of the box with the factory Governor still in place I was very disappointed with my big block kit, but I talked to a friend who told me just to bypass the governor spring with a piece of coat hanger, yeah yeah I know it will work just fine, but I found that the engine hesitated a bit in returning to idle. I made sure it wasn't binding up in any way, but nothing made it a smooth return to idle, so I took a piece of throttle cable and carefully swaged fittings onto it so that it is the exact length to pull the throttle yet smoothly return to idle. One tip I would say is to use a zip tie to hold the throttle down while setting the cable length, I just zip tied it to the dip stick. I didn't find any pics of how to do this on here, so I figured I'd share mine for other beginners like myself.
