Electric Club Car cuts out at full throttle
Club Car AQ0320 runs great through the whole range until the pedal is close to all the way down, then it starts to cut out almost like turning the key off and on continously. Pot.? Thanks

Re: Electric Club Car cuts out at full throttle
Sounds like possibly a couple things. Mcor or a problem with the vglide wiper switch.
If you pop the plaqstic cover off the vglide, and look at the copper pads, especially the one closest to the front of cart. Pad could be dirty, burnt, or maybe needs adjusting. With the key off, and cover off, push go pedal to the floor, The 2 copper pads should line up perfectly. If they don't, adjust them. If that is not the case, then you can try the mcor by pass test with a paper clip. |
Re: Electric Club Car cuts out at full throttle
I may be wrong but I don't think the 03 IQ has a v glide. But like sts says the mocor could be flakey

Re: Electric Club Car cuts out at full throttle
Yes. Club Cars either have a VGlide or an MCOR, not both. The IQ has an MCOR

Re: Electric Club Car cuts out at full throttle
It has mcor. Looks like it doesn't come apart. Any way to check resistance or just replace? Thanks Tony. How does the paper clip test work?

Re: Electric Club Car cuts out at full throttle
Found the paperclip test in forum, tried it and the cart still cutting out at full throttle. It doesn't cut off completely, almost like a gas cart with the governor keeping it from over- revving

Re: Electric Club Car cuts out at full throttle
The cart still runs at 8mph. Did the speed sensor test, cart slowed with resistance. no reverse beeps.

Sounds like a mcor

Re: Electric Club Car cuts out at full throttle
Finally figured out the problem. Put a new speed sensor on, and the batteries were dead. Charged it over night, came out in the morning and still charging. Load tested the batteries, one bad. Had cart jacked up to test and the bad battery blew the filler caps off, glad the seat was on. Replaced the battery, cart runs fine. Moral: check the simple sh** first. Don't listen to the customer about how the batteries are in "great" shape. Thanks for the input.
