Yamaha 2008 Electric Randomly Clicks

We just bought a used Yamaha YDRE 48V golf cart. We put in new batteries, a new solenoid and a new tow/run switch. When the cart is turned off and the tow/run switch is in the run position it randomly clicks. The only way to stop the clicking is to switch it to the tow position.

Any ideas what could be wrong? We'd like to get this fixed before we take it to the golf course.

Thanks!

Not sure if you're noticing the same click I did, but here is the link where I asked a similar question.

In my case it was the cart feeling movement. I found that by now setting the brake each time I get off it no longer clicks when I sit down on the cart or grab a roof support.

Thanks. We've tried locking the brake and it still clicks. Sometimes it takes awhile after we shut it off but it eventually starts to click again until we switch it to tow.

should not click if brake is locked,I would start with the easy'st thing first check the connection on the tow switch,it has to be something very simple.

This problem was addressed in one of the motor controller software updates. If you look at the part number on the controller, you can determine which software version by the last 2 digits of the part number (-02, -10, -20, -32, ect.). I believe the newest version is -32. This is info only, and not really much help because the software cannot be updated in the field, the controller has to be sent to yamaha.

When I turn the key all I get is a fast clicking sound.
