1983 club car forward and reverse

I have an old forward and reverse switch. Not sure where the wires go from the 3 post on the side. Can't find a wire diagram for this switch. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...8bcbe28336.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b54bcde5de.jpg

Unless CTD has a drawing, you may need to wait on Sergio or Dave or one of the other Vets that dealt with older carts. They will see this soon and respond.

Re: 1983 club car forward and reverse

Thanks a lot that's it bbnis hooked up. I replaced all 5 solenoid' s because one of my speed coils was getting hot and smoking. Now they are all getting hot just trying to eliminate that the forward and reverse is hooked up right.

Could there be something wrong with the batteries making the coils get extremely hot? They are old.

Or anything else I could check?

the coils are made to burn off electricity to give you slower speeds ... and they get HOT
when the go pedal is pushed all the way down no coils are used
in 1993 they added a heat shield over the coils
older coils get hotter than new

This is how your cables should be wired (using your colors when possible):
Yellow Cable --- 36v (forward power)
Red Cable --- 18v (reverse power)
Orange Cable --- Motor S1
Blue Cable --- Motor A1
White Cable --- Solenoid Passenger Side.
Pack Negative --- Motor S2
Solenoid Driver side --- Motor A2

If that is wired correctly, make sure all solenoids are closing.

If the solenoids are closing, make sure the copper bussbar that connects all of the sides of the solenoids is making good connection.

You can test the resistance between the first and the last solenoid post on the buss-bar side, it should be .
