Precedent overhaul

It all started with my charger crapping out, then noticed acid build up and here is where Im at today.

Before:

After:

Had a small hole ate through top of frame so didnt have much of a choice to tear down this far. Going to cut out the area and weld in new aluminum this week.

While its apart I figured I might as well go through it and clean and paint everything along with a few new items. I am going to do new:

Batteries
Cables
Shocks
New fluid in Diff
Bigger motor (maybe)

What else should I do while its apart?

Clean and shine the frame.

I spent about an hour cleaning the frame after that picture today. Shinning it isn't very practical since I live out in the country and drive it down dirt roads. I'm considering painting it black though.

Looks like you spent most of your time with the rims and tires. GRIN

4 Attachment(s)
Some ideas:

PlumQuick Purple "PH" motor and at least 4 gauge wires. Change controller and solenoid to 350-400 amp and HD solenoid. With your tires which look like 23's or 22's you'll be doing 29-30 MPH with new batteries.

See pictures for brush guard, running boards and trailer hitch and aluminum ball.

Lol I actually didn't even clean the wheels or tires. Going to pull them off and clean them later this week.

Will the upgraded motor and controller hurt my range?

I'm no expert, but I act like one sometimes. I think it would be very little difference if you go with say 400 amp controller and PQ Bandit motor with 4 ga welding cables. Kind of like having a big engine as long as you keep your foot out of it you may not see a difference at all.

I currently have 4-12 volt battery's. Shouldn't just stick to 4-12's or is there a better option for batteries?

I believe going with 8-6 volt batteries will increase you amp/hour capacity, thus increasing your range.

What year model is your cart? I would consider switching to the 6 8v set-up, lot longer run time, not much more battery cost.
