Club Car/Kubota build

I just hired myself out to install a Kubota 3 cyl diesel into a Club Car. I know the Diesel has been done before but I don't think it was done to a Club Car, I think it was an EZGO. So, the Club Car's Driven clutch is on the wrong side. I researched some and on Tom's site ("Carts Parts Plus") :thumbup:I found some explanation about this, in his notes for his Club Car Big Block conversion it says that forward will be reverse and to get more speed he sells a higher gear ratio. So does this mean I can just turn this engine around, install it just like I would any Briggs conversion and use reverse for forward, I think it does. I only agreed to build the mount and install the engine and to line up the clutches then it's back to the owner. I will post some pics of the mounts when I get going. Any help, advise, opinions, would be greatly appreciated.

I'm thinking you will have to relocate the radiator and install an electric fan for it and you have to have a custom adaptor made to mount the clutch you could use which ever end of the motor makes it fits best and save on buying the gears.
I like this build, to bad you're not doing the whole job.
(I'm betting you might end up with it before it's over with!) :lhmo:

Edit: That is the control bax for the Club car, throttle lever, micros, soleniod, voltage regulator, fuse

It just holds the solenoid/micro switch's/accelerator cable ....Just throw it off to the side.....don't think you'll need it on this project. That engine has a flywheel and a centrifical clutch set up already? What did it come out of? Thanks for the pix's from Rifter Manufactureing Company!

No clutch on it, I'm going to have to build an adaptor, a little Lathe work. The engine came out of a Kubota mower. The guy got the cart for $300.00 and a friend of his gave him the engine, it has around 500 hours on it, like brand new!! The cart has a Jakes lift on it, I guess it's a spindle lift and blocks on the back, well worth $300 bucks. I told him I only needed the rolling frame and engine so I dont know what the body looks like.

RMC Ltd, I guess I'll have to get a Business license. I have 4 builds going at once, my regular job is getting in the way but the carts don't pay enough.

Crash, the only part I agreed to do on this is mount the engine and line up the clutches, I hope this guy can do the rest. I will plant the seed though if he can't finish or losses interest I want it!
