Tomberlin Vanish wont move
The vehicle is a 2012 with 8 miles on it. Had it sold and while loading it on the truck all 8 of the batteries exploded. We did a lot of rinsing.
I installed new batteries. The thing ran great. We shut it off and about a week later tried to load it on the truck. Turn the key on, the main solenoid closes. No lights or speedo read out. Nothing happens when pressing the accelerator. Trace part of the problem down to the DC-DC converter being shorted. It also had a bad burnt smell. I wired in an a mostly right aftermarket converter and powered it from 3 of the batteries while I wait for the closer to right converter to arrive. With my temp converter I now have have lights and a speedo. Still no response from the controller. Do you think this is related to my temp converter and will be resolved when I put in the correct converter or are they separate circuits and I have some sort of controller issue? The barrel fuse by the controller is good and the solenoid is passing voltage. |

I attached the wiring diagram that goes with the original Vanish. (Assuming it's the original version with the Danatek controller and not the newer style from Columbia with the Sevcon controller).
Also attached that original Illustrated Parts List (IPL). There's the obvious check, make sure the cables didn't blow and all are in good shape. You've probably already done that but I have to mention it just because it's something easily forgotten. In looking at the wiring diagram, the B+ feeds both the DC convertor and the Controller together. But if the main contactor kicks in, you might think the controller survived. Unfortunately I'm not big on the Danaher controllers to know really how to test that. Hoping someone with more Danaher experience can answer that. |
Re: Tomberlin Vanish wont move
Thank you.
It is the Danaher controller. I didnt get a chance to look at it today. Ill take a fresh look tomorrow. |
Re: Tomberlin Vanish wont move
I just noticed that the speedometer display has the "P" light on indicating that the parking brake is on however this vehicle does not have a mechanical parking brake.

Re: Tomberlin Vanish wont move
Flight Systems tells me that the controller checks out fine
There is almost no support for this thing. A call to tech support and they admit that they do not know this vehicle. |
Re: Tomberlin Vanish wont move
If the "P" indicator is on, then the thing thinks it's in Park. Those were known to have issues with the adjustment of the gear select cable back at the gear case. Almost had to find a "sweet spot" to get it selected correctly.

Re: Tomberlin Vanish wont move
Oh, which tech support did you call, Wisconsin or Florida? (FYI, I'm not either of them anymore, after 10 years I decided to do this just for fun now)

I just got the controller back from Flight Systems. I can work with the cables to see of anything changes. |
Re: Tomberlin Vanish wont move
Does anyone have the Danaher wiring diagram?
