removing the crossbar on the swing arm-G9

can you remove that crossbar that goes under the transmission with out wrecking something? id imagine that the crossbar in front of it would keep it together and the axle tubes too. i just want it gone because its the first thing that touches in mud and sand causing it to get stuck pretty easaly. it gets hung up in ruts too.

I've never done it, but if you do, I would highly recommend a skid plate under the trans.

It is also the front mount for the diff center section. Might lose some transaxle integrity.

i was kinda worried about that, but there is another bar infront of it. would that be enough?

Yamaha put it in there for a reason. I think it wise to leave it, as its the first thing to save the tranny from taking the initial hit.

What Big Guy said, then it will slide over the mud.
