Bent rear frame crossbar

2 Attachment(s)
I have run across this bent rear crossbar and what I would like to know is if I don't straighten it, what would be the long term issues?
It's not bent a lot. Just looking for some opinions.

About the only thing that I can think of is some excessive bushing wear.
It seems that is does torque the rear bushing a little.
No broke welds but it looks like it was re welded in the past.

Found another thread on it with options for fixing it.

Thanks!

I see less harm in leaving it than in beating back straight. Check the welds for stress cracks at both ends they are notorious weak spots

If the spring shackles bolted up without issue. I would leave it alone. Now with that receiver on there begs the question, what are you going to pull? That little angle iron is meant to pull another cart or 2 with a tow bar [no tongue weight]. If you are going to pull something with a heavy tongue or serious weight might want to consider a stronger hitch. That is what I did. No worries now.

Thanks Scottyb, I will recheck the welds closely after I clean it up more.

Dundee, that is a nice hitch! Probably could drag a moose or two with that!

Shackles went on fine.
No plan for heavy towing or tongue load and I agree it needs some additional bracket/brace to the main frame.
I will come up with something for a more rugged mount support.

Thanks!
