Windshield restore

Got to playing around a bit this evening and the old windshield off the 01 DS donor cart was only the bottom half and it is a mess. Thought I'd see what I could do to clean it up a little.
Got out my trusty Porter Cable 7424XP polisher and a fresh bottle of Meguiars M205 finishing polish, taped off a section of the windshield and went to town on both sides.
The result was nothing less than amazing. I have a total of about 20 minutes into this, start to finish. I imagine that a whole windshield can be completed in less than an hour.

If anyone has a windshield that is a scratched up mess, this might be an alternative to a new one!

Pics

The whole windshield is clean, but you can obviously see the difference in the unpolished and polished parts.

Nice job, I'll have to give mine a try before I replace it.
Thanks

SWEET! Mine only has a couple of very light [self inflicted] scratches, will have to try that.

Am I the only one to have installed a real winshield in securit glass with an aluminium frame and car join? Always super clear, a bit of Rain-X and I even do not need wipers.

What a change, I could not come back to plexiglass!

I have to say it cost me around 50$ here in Phils... :-P

Use Meguiars Plas-x and the polisher and youll get better results.

You didn't say what foam pad you used?

Re: Windshield restore

Used a black pad for this.
I have Plas-X and I used that first and did not get close to this. However, I might want to use that now that I have it this good.....as a finisher.
