EZGO or Yamaha? Upgrading from EZGO Series sluggish cart
 

Thanks in advance for the advice. We moved from one planned community with flat paved roads to one with steeper hills and 16 miles of gravel roads, so we sold our (slow on the hills) 2000 EZGO Freedom series cart for $2400 and want to buy a new one set up the same way (4 seat). I have a few questions and could use some advice. We use it about 40 miles a month. First, our new community allows gas carts, so are they faster than an electric? If not, I want to stay electric. We loved the EZGO,and have superb experiences with all things Yamaha

We have 3 to choose from, all with folding rear seat, lights, top, windshield, new tires:

2005 EZGO PDS Freedom chip new batteries new body $3100 no tax
2005 Yamaha 48v new batteries $3300 plus tax
2007 Yamaha gas $3200 plus tax

all have a 6 month warranty

Thoughts??

i vote #2. 48v new batteries.tax is deductible on your income tax.:mrgreen:

Atlanta. Will the 48v Yamaha be as fast as the EZGO with the chip?

pds with chip is my vote thats would be fast enough and new body, batteries and no tax:thumbup:
and I dont know if a stock gas cart neccesairily faster you would have to ask someone who knows more about em than me but it will go farther (no charging) depending on how much you use your cart day.

With a rear facing seat and hills...I would go gas. More power and you can turn up the govenor for more speed for no cost. Problem is, you must decide if you like a "sparky" or a "gasser". Personally, with the cost of batteries these days, I'd put up with allitle more noise and go gas. Just my 2 cents worth. Dave

we went with the 48v Yamaha 2005; new body, new seats, jakes 6" lift, ITP tires, lights, rear seat and top $3900 out the door. GPS'd aty 18.4 mph on the flat
