Pedal adjustment problem
 

Have an 01 CC 48v Series cart. Cart has always been super slow and I decided to change out the pivot rod and put a new MCOR (the latest model) in my cart. Well not knowing what I was doing I did not adjust the pedal the correct way....what I mean is the cart when I would take my foot off the gas and just let it sit would want to creep forward. This eventually burned up my motor because of the constant use when I had the brake on. I am not all that upset about my mistake, I wanted a new motor anyway (wife is still mad lol). I have ordered a new motor and have it on the way. My question is how to I adjust the pedal to make sure this does not happen again. Is it a pivot rod issue or an MCOR issue?

I recently did an MCOR4 conversion on a friends 01 CC series DS and have the opposite problem. We push the go pedal about 25% before the solenoid clicks and it jumps at 25% throttle. And it maxes out at 83% throttle according to the alltrax software. I’m guessing the fix will be the same for both of us. Now just need one of the sages to tell us what that is.

Is your linkage or pedal worn? That should not be happening.

Ad the Alltrax software should automatically calibrate for the 100% based on your current travel.

Usually it is the other way around. Are you off a tooth on the bar drive that goes into the MCOR possibly preventing it from closing to 0?

You most certainly want to have the MCOR set to disengage the solenoid when go pedal is up. There will be a second or two delay when you let off the go pedal but you should hear the solenoid click.

There is no adjustment in the MCOR4, nor is there any way possible it can be in the wrong tooth. The drive bar is D-Shaped where it fits into the MCOR4, making it impossible to install incorrectly. If you're having issues with your range of throttle it's most likely the result of worn linkage components under the floor. The accelerator bearing and bracket assembly, qty 2 (1011694) and the accelerator pivot rod qty 1 (102026001) are most likely worn out and creating excessive sloppiness in your range of motion.

The nut on the end of the adjustment rod needs to be loosened a few turns so the pedal can return all the way.
You should have about 1/2" of pedal movement before the MCOR linkage starts to turn. This is so the park brake latch will release before the MCOR clicks and engages the solenoid.

E36, if your throttle percentage is Starting at 25% as soon as the MCOR clicks, that's not a pedal adjustment issue. That sounds more like either a poor connection or a faulty MCOR. With most 3 wire Pots if there is a poor ground the signal voltage will be high which may cause your issue.

Not reaching 100% throttle may be an adjustment issue, but the high initial throttle should probably be addressed first. Even with a poorly adjusted MCOR linkage, the throttle percentage should still be low right when it clicks, because the wiper should not move across the pot at all until after the click.

Thanks Tahoe and Fairtax. Now at least I know what to start looking at. I had a feeling it would (should) be an easy fix.
