Suspension

Hey there, I bought a ‘96 TXT 2 stroke and was putting on new tires when I noticed the front driver side leaf spring was snapped in half. I decided to investigate, thinking where there is one, there is another type deal. The passenger side looks ok, but I’ll replace both. And I’ll replace the shocks. I then turned my attention to the rear and I can’t find them! I see the shocks, some “spring” type absorbers but no leaf springs at all. I am a bit shocked. I would guess I would want heavy duty springs all around, but I can’t find if this came with them, did some jack was just take them off? I am at a loss. Any advice or help would be great!

Pictures would be helpful here. If you don't have rear leaf springs then you have to have something that keeps your rear housing stable. If you have only shocks the axle\wheels-tires would simply "flop" around.

Many gas carts use coil-overs or struts. So this sounds completely reasonable and possibly stock. That or someone modified your cart to use struts. On a strut, the shock absorber is basically inside the coil spring.
