83 Club Car Newbie

Hey guys I just traded for a 83 Club Car DS. I have bought a set of 25" tires and a 8" lift kit from Buggies Unlimited. I am hoping to have the lift by the weekend and installed shortly after.

Check out my pics

Welcome to BGW 83CC!

Looks like a nice cart!
I'm curious... what was the trade?

A couple of notes...
You may find your performance has "dwindled" after you put the 25's on...

and...

If you have a problem installing your lift, you will want to call, or ask at BU FIRST, before asking here,
You might get "Razzed" a bit!

Just a "heads up"!

Thanks for the welcome big guy...

I traded a 2007 Baja Motorsports 200cc Dirt Bike.

As for asking BU first... I do not mind getting razzed a bit. And I have installed suspension and body lifts on trucks for years. So if I get stumped I will throw a few wrenches, cuss a little and drink a few beers then get right back to it.

Also, I notice that some times my forward and reverse are a little choppy starting off. Is that the switch that is responsible? Are they expensive?

John

Oh yeah... she is now named LUB MUCHEEN. Please refer to her as such! LOL

not to be a smart arse but was it worth it to trade a basic 2007 dirt bike for a 25 year old elec cart? i,m assuming you got all new batteries with cart? i hope so.......its not a bad looking cart but at that year your upgrades are limited unless your willing to drop a real good dime in it cause other than the lift and tires all your upgrades are gonna be expensive and time consuming......but than again thats why we do the things we do..............good luck and be sure to post pics along the way........................8)

Like I said above... I can take a little razzing.

I did not ride the dirt bike at all and the batteries are about a year old. I am not sure how fast it goes but that is not my goal. I got it so that I had a stylin ride to go to and from the campsites and do work around the house.

As for other upgrades I am not sure what I would even want to do. I have read about upgrading to a 48v system but am not ready for that yet. Just out of curiosity what would be involved with this upgrade?

Keep the comments coming... I like pointers

I just got to ride my club car today, but only in fwd no rvs yet dont know what that is about. I will try to keep up with you lift kit on yours so I know what I am up against. I have a lifted ez go but it has a 8 hp briggs motor on it.

yeah if you didn,t ride the dirt bike i understand cause a golfcart is almost a must in most campgrounds...........our campground has 22 miles of roads and a nice golfcourse but i hated just having to start my tahoe to go to the camp store cause i could ride my cart all sday for the privce of just starting the truck and not to mention where would the wife and dogs sit on those nightly rides around the campground so i understand.......i was thinking you might have been able to sell the bike outright and get enought to but a newer cart thats all....................have fun and good luck.......when your ready to upgrade post and we,ll get into it as theres much to be done....................8)

as long as they were broke in right and they are maintained proper theres nothing wrong with them....the down side is if you lack maintence and they get to a certain point they are almost impossible to bring back, i have seen that many many times so keep up on your maintence and don,t ever let them get to that point..............................8)

Re: 83 Club Car Newbie

define maintenance... you mean charging them up after each use and making sure that the water levels stay correct.
