Testing
So purchased 96 club car from neighbor, no batteries, speakers missing but left big holes, altrax controller cover missing and water inside, solenoid sitting on seat, 4# wire on floor board. Anyhow stating looking at his, turns out it's a Bandit cart with 10hp motor A1 mod1. Thinking about repairing. How do I test the motor, motor controller, and solenoid w/o batteries

Re: Testing
Can't test anything with out batteries. Gotta start somewhere.

Re: Testing
Only thing you can test on the motor is continuity of the armature and field coils.
Should have continuity from A1 to A2 Should have from S1 to S2 Should Not have continuity from any A to any S Should Not have continuity from any A or S to the motor case. Other than that the other testing will need to be done with batteries. Assume the controller is toast. Assume the solenoid is toast. Just replace them. |
Re: Testing
How do you get water inside the controller? You’re in Georgia, was the cart in a flood? If so then I’d assume everything in the cart except for the frame and body is garbage. You could maybe test the motor with some jumper wires and a car battery, there’s plenty of “how to’s” on that. But aside from that you’re gonna have to pony up some $ and get some batteries to even start to do anything else.

Re: Testing
Thanks for feed back
Ok, need batteries, I purchased another running cart same time. This was for misc. parts So I have another club cart. Do I go lithium and if so what issue will arise from changing. Also, should go 4 lithium is series or go big with parallel |
Re: Testing
If you are going to have to buy batteries AND a charger, going lithium is the way to go. (about the same $$$). Benefits with lithium much better than FLA.
