Re: Wiring Diagram

Ryan, I have used, viewed, re-viewed, drawn, proofread, verified and validated wiring diagrams, schematic diagrams, engineering drawings, as built drawings, service manuals, operators manuals and parts lists for over fifty years and in several different languages, so I suspect I might be able to decipher your drawings, however they are too cluttered to be useable for anything much more than to compete with artwork by Picasso.

What you have are wiring diagrams, which is good if you want to re-wire the cart as-is.
If you want to figure out what is going on under the seat, you need a schematic diagram. Perhaps, more than one. (One for drive system only, another for Accessories only and maybe a third showing the two combined.)

The difference between a wiring diagram and schematic diagram is that a wiring diagram is the physical layout of the wiring while a schematic is the electrical layout. Schematics also use symbols to depict what is going on in the boxes often used to show components in wiring diagrams. For clarity, boxes are used on schematics also, typically when the exact circuit is unknown or so complex that drawing it out confuses rather than clarifies the electrical function.

Start with the battery pack on the left of the page, with the motor on the right and space between the two for the solenoid, F/R switching device, throttle and electronic speed controller. Those six items (five if you consider the throttle part of the speed controller) plus the ignition/safety switches/interlocks and battery charger connector constitute the entire drive system. The rest is accessory items that confuse the schematic of the drive system.

Pick one of the main cables from the battery pack (either B+ or B-) and draw a line to the right to the first place it goes electrically. Then draw a line or lines to the other places it is directly connected to electrically. Then pick up the same cable on the other side of the component and draw a line to where it goes after going through that component.

When you've followed that cable all the way to the motor, go back and do same for the other cable.
Then do same for Ignition/safety switch/interlock wires

Hint: The main difference between your cart and a stock Series cart is that someone replace the high current mechanical F/R switch with a low current switch and couple of relays. There are schematics for stock series carts floating around here as well as schematics for F/R switching using solenoids/relays. All you need to do is combine the two and tweak it a little.

 JohnnieB, I don't think anybody could have said it any better ~ no sense reinventing the wheel, eh?
