Electric carts and water..

What happens if you drive an electric cart through water?

Re: Electric carts and water..
Not much of anything really, unless you get the controller wet (inside) and then the cart usually won't run.
The easiest thing to get water into is the micro switches and then the reverse buzzer will stay on for a while or untill it dries out, even though the cart is not in reverse. |
Re: Electric carts and water..
Thanks Rusty..the reason I asked is cuz we lifted this cart. It is a old resistor cart and everybody wants to run it through the water. I just didn't want anybody to get hurt

No one is gonna get electricuted if that is your concern. They might feel some tingling though!

Re: Electric carts and water..
its noyt a good idea to just run thur water.....................controller problems, motor problems if it gets wet...............switches..........these things don,t mix good thats why you hear someone say i washed my cart now it won,t run............i mean its not gonna blow up but water and elec. don,t mix well.............................8)

Re: Electric carts and water..
Thanks everybody, for all the feedback. It is not like deep or anything. 2 -3 inches standing in wet grass. But it is fun to sling the water and mud. We just got a 95 yamaha gas cart running this morning! can't wait to get that in the field.
Thanks again! Robert |
